History
Rossford was founded in 1898 as a company town for the Rossford Ordnance Works, a munitions plant that produced ammunition for the U.S. military during World War I and World War II. The city was incorporated in 1939.
After the war, the Rossford Ordnance Works was converted into a General Motors plant that produced transmissions and other automotive parts. The plant closed in 2010, but the city has since attracted new businesses and industries.
