Jordan Township is a township located in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the northeastern part of the county and is bordered by Sullivan County to the east, Davidson Township to the south, and Franklin Township to the west. The township covers an area of 23.5 square miles and has a population of approximately 500 people.

History

Jordan Township was formed in 1835 from parts of Davidson and Franklin Townships. It was named after Reuben Jordan, a prominent early settler in the area. The township was primarily agricultural until the late 19th century when the timber industry became a major economic force. Today, Jordan Township is a rural community with a mix of farms, forests, and residential areas.

Jordan Township is home to several attractions that draw visitors from near and far. One of the most popular is the Loyalsock State Forest, which covers a large portion of the township and offers hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting opportunities. The forest is also home to the popular Haystacks hiking trail, which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Another popular attraction in Jordan Township is the Forksville Covered Bridge, which spans the Loyalsock Creek and is one of the few remaining covered bridges in the area. The bridge was built in 1850 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
